Oceanside Waiwhakaiho Home

Set within the Oceanside Waiwhakaiho Taranaki development, this home is designed to make the most of its coastal surroundings, with open spaces, natural light and a strong connection to the outdoors. Newton Gordge Joinery completed the full internal joinery package, working alongside the client and designer to refine layouts, detailing and functionality across the home.

Project Overview

Working alongside the client and build team, this project involved the manufacture and installation of joinery throughout the entire home. The overall design was developed by the project’s architect/designer, with Newton Gordge Joinery contributing to the refinement of layouts, detailing and functionality across each space. From the kitchen and living areas through to wardrobes, bathrooms and integrated storage, each element was carefully considered to ensure a consistent and cohesive finish throughout the home.

The Joinery

The joinery throughout the home has been designed to work with the open-plan layout, adding structure and practical storage across each space. Working in collaboration with the client and designer, we contributed to the final layouts and detailing to ensure each element integrated cleanly with the overall design of the home. From the kitchen through to wardrobes, bathrooms and built-in elements, every piece has been made to deliver a consistent finish, using durable materials and clean lines that perform well for everyday use.

Materials & Finishes

A range of materials was selected to suit the different areas of the home, balancing durability with a clean, consistent look. This included laminate cabinetry, timber finishes and hard-wearing surface materials, all chosen to perform well in everyday use while working with the overall design of the space. The focus was on achieving a finish that is practical, long-lasting and visually consistent throughout the home.

Outcome

The finished result is a well-balanced home where the joinery supports both the design and how the space is used day to day. Each element works together to create a clean, cohesive finish, with practical storage and durable materials ensuring the spaces perform just as well as they look.
